The USCIS recently announced an end to the requirement that civil surgeons sign the Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, no more than 60 days before an individual applies for an immigration benefit, such as a green card.

USCIS is revising policy guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual to clarify that benefit requestors may select their gender on USCIS forms (or change a prior gender selection) without the need to provide supporting documentation.

Avoiding USCIS Delays

The USCIS says that to avoid delays you should NOT hole punch or staple documents for paper filings.

Some other “DO NOTS” Include:
Folding documents
Placing sticky notes on documents
Using insertable tab dividers
