N-400 Naturalization

May 2nd, 2022 | naturalizationtimeline2021

Finally … we get to crack the champagne that a client gave me almost 2 years ago!

We filed for naturalization in April 2020, but due to a “File Release Restriction” at the Federal Records Center, the case was not processed for nearly 2 years 🙄

“Your Form N-400 is currently pending preprocessing checks at the National Benefits Center (NBC). On [Date], the NBC
requested your A-file from the Federal Records Center (FRC) to continue processing your Form N-400. However, due to a file hold
restriction the FRC is not honoring A-file requests at this time. Although we are hoping that the FRC lifts their file release restriction in the upcoming months we are uncertain of an exact time. Once the NBC retrieves your complete record from the FRC they will continue with the processing of your Form N-400. We hope this information is helpful to you.”

Today, the nation became a better place

Naturalization Interviews at the USCIS Boston Field Office

April 28th, 2022 | naturalizationtimeline2021

Day 2 of Naturalization Interviews at the USCIS Boston Field Office.

Yesterday, was the first time the USCIS OFFICER was remote (in Atlanta).

It appears that the Atlanta Field Office has teamed up with the Boston Field Office in an effort to reduce backlogs and expedite processing times.

My only concern with the current procedure at the Boston Field Office is that applicants are interviewed in the main reception area of Room E-160; separated by only a temporary partition.

My hope is that the virtual interviews will soon be held in closed quarters, so that sensitive information can be discussed privately.

N-400 Naturalization

April 6th, 2022 | naturalizationtimeline2021

I am back with more #clientlove!
.
In August 2021, this client filed a naturalization application under the 5-year rule. After reading several reports online on Visajourney.com, the client learned that being accompanied by an immigration attorney can offer clarifications, explain facts, and provide legal arguments. This client’s interview is scheduled for next month for an overall time frame of 8.5 months!
.
Please note: Time frame in the USCIS Boston Field Offices varies greatly, from 11 to 16.5 months. Estimated processing times are listed on the USCIS website!
