What documents do I need to renew my license in MA?

July 14th, 2021 | n565

“You made our day with your kindness and your willingness to help us out with this sticky wicket of a problem.”

Did you know that the Massachusetts RMV requires proof of lawful presence to renew a driver’s license?

Naturalized U.S. citizens who have misplaced their Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship are getting lots of pushback from the MA RMV.

To request a replacement Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship, applicants must file Form N-565 and pay the $555 USCIS filing fee.

The current processing time for a replacement certificate is 8.5 to 10.5 months!!

If you would like to discuss the Massachusetts RMV’s lawful presence document requirement and/or the process of applying for a replacement of the naturalization or citizenship certificate, contact Lally Immigration Services, LLC at (617) 870-1000.
