Form N-400 Update!

April 8th, 2024 | immigrationfees

Exciting news for naturalization applicants! Applicants filing Form N-400 can now request an original or replacement Social Security number (SSN) or card and update their immigration status with the Social Security Administration (SSA) without visiting an SSA office. This new option, available in the 04/01/24 edition of the form, streamlines the process for new citizens, eliminating the need for a separate SSA visit.

USCIS Fee Increase

March 25th, 2024 | immigrationfees

USCIS has decided to adjust certain fees associated with immigration and naturalization benefit requests. These adjustments are made after conducting a comprehensive review of fees every two years. The review revealed that the current fees are insufficient to cover the full cost of providing adjudication and naturalization services. Therefore, the fees are being adjusted to ensure that USCIS can recover its costs and maintain adequate service levels.
.
The final rule will come into effect on April 1, 2024. This means that the adjustments to fees, additional fee exemptions, and changes to benefit request requirements outlined in the final rule will be implemented starting from that date.
