Did you know that the Massachusetts RMV requires proof of lawful presence to renew a driver’s license?
Naturalized U.S. citizens who have misplaced their Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship are getting lots of pushback from the MA RMV.
To request a replacement Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship, applicants must file Form N-565 and pay the $555 USCIS filing fee.
The current processing time for a replacement certificate is 8.5 to 10.5 months!!

FOIA/PA stands for “Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act.”
Individuals may file a FOIA/PA request to obtain immigration records from the USCIS.
In order to make a FOIA/PA request, individuals must provide:
• Full Name
• Alien Registration Number (if known)
• Date of Birth
• Country of Birth
• Current Address or Email Address
• Purpose of Request (essentially, what documents are being sought).
