- 07/28/2023 – Biometrics Scheduled
- 08/11/2023 – RFE for Sealed Medical
- 08/15/2023 – Biometrics Captured
- 09/16/2023 – IV Approved
- 09/17/2023 – GC Approved
- 09/25/2023 – Green Card Produced
So … Does Submitting a Sealed Immigration Medical Exam with the I-485 Save Time?
Given the timeline above, it doesn’t appear so.
The USCIS website (here) suggests that green card applicants may “save time by submitting Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, at the same time you file Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.”
Further, the website says, “Filing your Form I-485 with Form I-693 may eliminate the need for us to issue a Request for Evidence (RFE) to obtain your I-693, which delays review of your application under you respond to the RFE.”
We did not submit the Form I-693 with the I-485 and the USCIS did issue a Request for Evidence (as expected); yet, this case was processed significantly faster than most other pending cases.
