Immigration Civics Test

Immigration Civics Test

Did you know that to become a United States citizen, applicants are required to pass a civics test? The civics test assesses knowledge of U.S. history, government, and laws, and consists of 100 questions. Applicants are asked up to 10 questions from the pool, and they must answer at least 6 correctly to pass the test. This requirement aims to ensure that individuals seeking citizenship have a basic understanding of the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens.

What is a common marriage-based green card mistake?
.
A common mistake in marriage-based green card applications is failing to provide sufficient evidence of a genuine relationship. Applicants might overlook submitting documents like joint bank statements, lease agreements, photos together, or affidavits from friends and family. This can lead to delays or denials, as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) needs clear proof that the marriage is legitimate and not solely for immigration purposes.
