Deputy Director for Policy Statement on USCIS’ Fiscal Outlook

Deputy Director for Policy Statement on USCIS’ Fiscal Outlook

June 30, 2020

On May 15, USCIS notified Congress of a projected budget shortfall caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and requested emergency funding of $1.2 billion.[i] Without congressional action before August 3, USCIS will need to furlough over 13,000 staff members.[ii]

The furlough of over 13,000 staff members will likely result in delayed processing times for n400 form citizenship applications.

If you would like to apply for citizenship or a certificate of naturalization, contact immigration lawyer, Dayna Lally, at Lally Immigration Services, LLC. Dayna can be reached at (617) 870-1000 or by email to [email protected].
