Conditional Permanent Residency
Conditional permanent residency is conferred on an individual who has been married to a lawful permanent resident or U.S. citizen for less than 2 years before their green card is approved.
In order to remain a permanent resident, a conditional permanent resident must file a petition to remove the conditions on their residency during the ninety days before their two-year green card expires.
