News from Lally Immigration Services, LLCUSCIS Interview Questions
Recently, an interviewing officer at the USCIS Boston Field Office posed some unexpectedly detailed questions to assess the genuineness of my client’s relationships.
.
Among the questions were:
What kind of stove do you have – gas or electric?
Who sleeps closer to the window?
Who sleeps closer to the door?
.
These seemingly simple questions can test your knowledge of everyday details in your shared life. While they might seem trivial, they play a role in assessing the depth of your relationship. The officer’s line of questioning highlights the importance of being prepared for anything during the interview.

What is the Child Status Protection Act (“CSPA”)?
The Child Status Protection Act (“CSPA”) does not change the definition of a child. Instead, the CSPA provides a method for calculating a person’s age to see if they meet the definition of a child for immigration purposes.
.
The CSPA applies to noncitizens abroad who are applying for an immigrant visa through the Department of State (“DOS”) as well as noncitizens physically present in the United States who are applying for adjustment of status through the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”).
