USCIS Update on Telephonic Appearance Policy
Effective May 18, 2026, the USCIS will require attorneys and accredited representatives to attend field office interviews in person. Telephonic participation will only be allowed in very limited circumstances. See (here).
This is a meaningful shift for applicants and their legal teams. In-person representation allows for stronger advocacy, clearer communication with officers, and real-time support during what can be a stressful process.
For clients, this change reinforces the importance of preparation and coordination ahead of the interview date; especially, in busy field offices like those in the Greater Boston Area.

- Schedule a pre-interview preparation session;
