Important Update
USCIS will begin administering a new 2025 Naturalization Civics Test for applicants who file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, on or after October 20, 2025.
The new 2025 test is different from the current version in several ways:
- Applicants will be asked 20 questions (instead of 10).
- To pass, they must answer at least 12 correctly (instead of 6).
Applicants should review the updated materials carefully to prepare. Full details and study resources are available directly from USCIS here.
File Before October 20, 2025
